The EHS4VET project focuses on the needs of VET learners and their employability potential in the regional economy, with the main priority being the adaptation of VET offers (provided by the Vlado Tasevski Secondary Vocational School and Bratstvo Community Centre) to the needs of the labour market.
The overall objective of the project is to provide VET learners – young unemployed adults and vocational school graduates – with a set of work-based skills related to understanding and knowledge of the concepts and practices of environment, health and safety (EHS) in the workplace.

The project will contribute to the objectives of the small partnership by including other project objectives:

To raise awareness of EHS in VET institutions and the wider community in the region (the Open Balkan countries of Serbia and North Macedonia and the neighbouring EU partner Bulgaria).
In line with the Europe 2020 growth strategy and the Education and Training 2020 work programme, appropriate training for VET learners would could prevent early school leaving and increase their employability. Furthermore, the EHS4VET project will take into account the multicultural and multi-confessional environment by providing learning materials accessible to learners with fewer opportunities (low-income VET learners, unemployed graduates, people with low living standards, migrants, minority groups). Furthermore, the partners’ experience will contribute to a better matching of skills in the participating regions.

To build the capacity of VET institutions and increase their attractiveness by enriching their teaching/training offers with EHS content.

To improve the employability of VET graduates and other VET learners by training them to use tools that will improve safe, healthy and environmentally friendly working practices.

To provide VET learners with problem-solving skills, being able to identify safety hazards and avoid them during daily operations.

Yes instructs VET providers to impart knowledge on EHS issues to future learners by adapting their teaching materials and practices.
